Wes Anderson-Inspired Styled Wedding || San Francisco Mint
So I guess I'm into creating styled weddings that are based off of movies. (and I'm so into it!)
When I watch films by Wes Anderson, I frequently make guttural moans during particular moments of perfect composition. I'm sure I've been subconsciously inspired by his cinematography; the intense centered shots, the bold off-centered shots, the quick zooms. When I was introduced to the San Francisco Mint, I was immediately inspired to create something there.
I reached out to my friend Stephanie, of Bowerbird Atelier. I wanted her to model, as well as create the paper goods. Not only does she have a face that screams "vintage whimsy", but she's got a mustachioed partner to match. She and I fangirled over Wes Anderson for a bit, then got straight to work. Bold colors! We cried. Yellows and reds and blues! We squealed. It had begun.
I contacted Liza, planner extraordinaire with Studio DBI, and after she quickly said YES to the project, the three of us wandered the halls of the SF Mint, moaning with inspiration. Yeah, getting creatively inspired is a sexy experience.
I am so fortunate to have been able to make this vision become a reality, with some fantastic vendors by my side. I loved every second of this.
I'm really hoping this attracts more couples to make their wedding day unique! Play around with color! Brides: don't worry about a totally white dress! Grooms: You deserve to be pampered, too! The best weddings are the weddings that fit the couple. It's your day, so bring your vibe to the table! Find shared interests that can provide subtle inspiration, without creating a themed-birthday-style wedding. Give yourself permission to have the celebration that you want.
