In the least surprising turn for this massive Lord of the Rings fan, my very first photography inspiration was Viggo Mortensen’s book SignLanguage.  At the wee age of 14, I was fascinated by the way he documented small moments using them as a trail guide to mark a remarkable journey. In fact, this fascination with blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments-turned-art led me to earn a degree in photography.

While I edit, I am likely to be rewatching one of my comfort shows like The Office, New Girl, or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or blasting lo-fi hip hop to help my ADHD brain focus extra hard.

In addition to my journey to my photography career, I am a loud and proud theatre kid. I found my calling in physical theatre and clowning, attended San Francisco’s Clown Conservatory, and co-wrote and performed in a comedy play with my clown partner in 2019. We continue to be silly together and have a second play in the works.

When I’m not working, I’m probably napping with my senior dog, Toulouse Goose, working on my family heirloom sorting project, or showing my husband, Bobby, all the TikToks that make me laugh.

I offer a photography experience that is about so much more than the pictures we take (although those are gonna blow your mind, too!). I’ve crafted a client experience that flows from a place of empathy and compassion. I create room for exploration and making fun choices that lead to new ideas. I passionately deliver an experience firmly rooted in positivity, self-love, and a celebration of everything that makes you who you are. I’m either calm and loving or I am shouting about how freakin’ amazing you are to make you laugh and feel like a million bucks.

I enjoy being a fly on the wall and calmly observing as much as I delight in being the engaging ringmaster of the circus.

Even though I use digital cameras in my business, I got my start in film photography over a decade ago. My editing style is based on the timeless quality of film, with some artistic expression to enhance the feeling of each image. Every moment is unique - every wedding, couple, and family. These documented moments are not at all the same and because of that, I enjoy applying edits that best fit the moment.

Life does not deserve one single preset.

The floral design motif you can spot throughout my website was actually inspired by my therapist! While struggling in 2018 to define the unique impact of my brand, my therapist observed that I am drawn to documenting the full spectrum of human emotions. Yep, not just the happy stuff. I want to photograph it all.

My logo, the California poppy journeying through its stages of life - created by my friend Stephanie at Bowerbird Atelier - so beautifully represents this pursuit. I want to preserve moments of childhood, and capture the happy tears at a celebration of love. I want to document laughter that makes your face hurt. We all know that not every moment is bright, not every moment is beautiful, but it all deserves to be documented.
